You Are Reading: Cameroon Gospel Music Network: Unifying Gospel Artistry in Cameroon
I was once asked why there wasn’t a single unifying body for all gospel Artistry in Cameroon?
At that time I had no response to the question because the answer was obvious, there simply was none.
The Cameroonian gospel music industry has great potential and untapped talents, that will blow your mind.
The Cameroon Gospel Music Network, abbreviated as CGM NET, with headquarters in Yaounde – Cameroon, is the answer to the question I was asked some years back. It is an artistic and cultural association that was created on 25 March 2021.
They focus on positively impacting the country and other nations with great music according to positive christian values and qualities.
They’re preoccupied with singing for peace, love, joy and believe strongly that Gospel Music will reveal the Grace of God in our country.
It aims at rallying gospel artists (singers, instrumentalists, songwriters, producers, interpreters, and performers), praise and worship leaders, music ministers, and associations, as well as other industry stakeholders and leaders in the nation, and diaspora, who will participate in structuring an inclusive musical art and exemplary music industry and ministry in Cameroon, which will improve the living conditions of its artists.
CGM-NET will promote unity and discipline in the music industry, promote education and capacity building for its members and other industry players to enhance and ensure efficient dissemination of gospel messages through songs, and lyrical revival that will contribute to peace in the nation and world at large.
Their network aligns itself to the new law on Artistic and Cultural Associations in Cameroon. Their slogan is “Time for Impact” and their motto reads “Creativity, Productivity, Impact”.
It is officially launching on 19 June 2021 at 2pm at The Cameroon Cultural Center, Yaounde.
